What do the experts suggest? It's been a long time since I've done this and would like some advice.

But if you actually meant lure then a Got- Cha plug works pretty good.

Exactly what high cotton posted. Catch sand flies or use fishbites

Use the pompano rig posted above, but the grass has been pretty bad lately so likely to foul up the line.

Haven't been in a while. But we used to pompano rig sand fleas, and throw spoons off the beach in the morning.

If you can get up (I struggle while on vacation) the surf can go off right at daybreak, the bite will die as soon as the sun gets up.

MirrOlure Top Dog 4" "BONE" or your favorite top water

After the sun come up / during the day carolina rigged sand fleas with a med spinning rod , take a piece of PVC and drive it in the beach then stick your rod handle in it.

Looking to try something besides a pompano rig. How are you fishing that?

I alternate between basically a slow roll just about the bottom and a jerk/stop motion not unlike a Rogue. If I see active fish, I just reel it just under the surface.

Pomp rig with fish bites and fresh dead shrimp or catch sand fleas and ghost shrimp. Gotcha chrome with orange head. Miro jerk bait white with red head. Gold or silver spoon of choice. If the surf allows a top water, popping pork with shrimp under it, or Carolina rig with live shrimp or minnow.

For this reason I don't know if I'll bring my gear to Destin anymore. Every single time I go "the grass is bad".

Grass was horrible all week . Big tide swings coming should help. Def Pomp Rig fleas or bites.

The number one has to be a spoon range and anything everything will eat it, drag bump on bottom for flounder rip it for specs Spanish lady fish anything can and will smack a spoon.

Second head to be a top water popper or whopper plopper.

Third jig head with soft plastic might as well do scented, make it a dual trout rig while your at it.
