They asked us for our zip code and if we lived in city limits or not. I think that’s was all there was to it.

I've done it multiple times. If you go to a neighboring state likt TX where they do this frequently then they will most likely file it for you and mail in your registration. No different than buying from dealership down the road from your house or neighboring parish.

If you go to a dealership further away like northern AR then they will likely charge you the sales tax and give you a cashiers check to submit to DMV when you register your vehicle.

Either way its not difficult and you only pay sales tax for the zipcode you live in.

Just did it. Dealership handled it all for it. Piece of cake. Then got it delivered.

Not an expert but typically for out of State car purchases, you pay taxes for and to your State or City or residence and not the State/City of purchase. Registration would also be to your State of residence. The dealer should handle the paperwork and send to your State.

If private purchase, the taxes should be the same but I'm not sure about title work. You might have to do the leg work on that.

Experience, we bought a car in Mississippi and titled in Baton Rouge several years ago.

I’ve bought more vehicles out of state than in state. They handle it all just fine.

Don't forget to get inspection when u get the car. I was used to having the dealer have it done if bought in La and just forgot about it when I bought in TX and Shreveport cop nailed me for no inspection sticker

You could have googled this and found the answer in the time it took someone to respond.

I don't get why people ask questions like this here. It also depends where you live.

This little dork may or may not be worth looking into. The video popped up on my Youtube yesterday. Charges a 1,000 dollar flat fee.

I did the delivery myself because I wanted an enclosed trailer for transport. I used Montway. They were easy enough to deal with. Ordered on Wednesday, picked up on Monday and delivered from Tampa top Houston on Tuesday.
