I see people with wardrobe sized rollerboards. I don’t own enough clothes to fill one of these.

Women, bro. To her credit, my ex-wife could travel with the required hair dryer and her shite for a long weekend in a 21". Not many ladies can.

I refused to bring a jacket, or fly in pants, going to NYC in the winter. People that stuff their jackets in the overheads can get @*(%&*%^^.

Disciple equals freedom. Women have none of either. Dudes have let them get away with it for decades. I'm assuming you're older, but welcome to there being no brakes on anyone's personal behavior, especially from men towards women.

My wife and daughters pack enough for a quick beach trip to cloth a village in Africa.
And some how manage to wear most of it . I need a couple swim suits and some flip flops.

I love people who somehow think they're unlocking a life cheat code by under-packing or not checking a bag.

There are times being a minimalist can make some sense and there are many times doing so for the sake of doing so is just foolish.

I’ve traveled with oversized bags many times because I’m traveling with all my snowboard gear.

I’ve also traveled with oversized gun cases for hunting.

I’m not suggesting a cheat code is good. I’m just wondering why people think it’s a cheat code to wear every piece of clothing owned while traveling.

Don't be that hyperbolic. Checked baggage has weight restrictions so it makes sense to wear heavier clothing items to reduce the weight of checked baggage.

On most of my leisure travel I have one checked bag that's an ice chest and inside of it is our helonix chairs.

Another example is the one above (snowboard or ski gear)...we have one bag thats JUST ski helmets, clothing, gloves, etc. Have you ever flown for a golf trip, even beyond clubs it can make alot of sense to pack and bring balls, golf shoes, rangefinder, golf towel, rain gear, etc.

Sure...there are time when packing minimally makes alot of sense (hiking trips for example) but bringing things with you that you're going to want when you get to where you're going isn't too complicated of a concept to understand.

Yep, my snow bag is over five feet long and two feet wide.

Agreed. I typically travel with just a carry-on. I know there will be things I'd wish I brought, but these days there is a walmarks or target close to everywhere.

I have half a tote bag of cosmetics, skin care, hair products, and blow dryer/flat iron. I need options. I also need to not look like shite when we go to a nice dinner.

I'd much rather overpack than wish I had packed something and not have it. I need clothing options as well. Pretty sure I've never travelled with less than 3 pairs of shoes...probably mostly 4.

Men have it so easy. Besides, you just haul it a few times, then it stays in the hotel.

I generally don't wear many clothes from these places and I really don't want to waste vacation time shopping for stuff I could have just brought with me.

How in the world can anyone think that's a better option than just checking a bag?

Yep. I used to work with a woman who frequently attended most of the same conferences I did. It's a rare flight indeed that I ever check a bag at all; She had two 26" (ish) roller bags...one of which she said was just for shoes and make up.

All depends on length of trip and time of year.

If I'm on vacation, I am not wasting time washing clothes.

So if I am in Europe or Australia/New Zealand for a week and a half (like I was last year), I need 10-11 outfits. That takes up space.

And if it's winter or colder, need to pack long pants, sweaters/ sweatshirts. jackets, coats, etc., and all that stuff takes up room, especially for a week long trip.

this will ever remain a mystery to me. Packing clothes for a trip you won’t wear LOL

just carrying around shite across the country or across the world only to pack it back up and bring it home
