Walt Disney World Resort Parking 2018

Disney announced today that starting on March 21, 2018 guest staying on property will have to pay to park at their resort. The pricing is as follows:
Value Resort - $13/night
Moderate Resort - $19/night
Deluxe Resort - $24/night
This fee will be paid upon checking out and will not be reflected in any quotes you may generate. The only way to get around this to to book your trip before March 21. It's not a huge increase buts its a increase on top of a recent ticket price increase. So go ahead and book your trip or call a travel agent to book it for you and save a few dollars.
*This is my understanding of the news release and all information may not be 100% correct.

I don’t like the increased ticket prices and paying for parking. But, the crowds have gotten so big all the time that I’m not against the increase if it lowers attendance by pricing out more people.

I bet those parking spots at the Deluxe resorts are pretty dope though.

Who does? But, they have to try and curb the demand by pricing some people out. It's simple economics. And, when Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens at Hollywood Studios it's going to be much, MUCH worse.

Disney has become a joke. It's the most unapologetic gouging in America. How about I just take my family of five to BC or Europe and call it a day.

To me, there sort of becomes a point with some things, when you feel like you're being fleeced every which way till Sunday, that it's just no longer enjoyable.

Why not just increase the cost of rooms by 2% or whatever to cover this?
One of the "benefits" to staying on site was free parking, whereas if you stay off site you have to pay to park at the parks. They've taken this away. Now, the only benefit is the on site transportation and obviously the location.
While its a small amount, nickel and diming gets old quick.

Did they hire Joe Alleva?
When they changed all the disability rules that did it for me.

Something has got to give. The crowds are unbearable most of the year. We went right a week after Thanksgiving and it was still fairly full, but not PACKED.
Maybe they can raise the ticket prices for people not staying on resort.

Certainly sounds like petty nickel & diming to me. Last time we went, the parking lot at our property(Caribbean Beach) was practically empty. Granted, it wasn't a particularly crowded time at the parks, but the property seemed pretty full based on the dining room and buses each day.

We stay offsite and pay the $22 a day to park. But if you get there before 7:30 nobody is at the parking booth so it’s free. We usually do early breakfasts each day to get in early and this last trip only had to pay on 2 days we were there.

We fly and I'm a DVC member staying at those resorts. This doesn't affect what I pay. But if it lowers attendance, even better.

When did you go last? Maybe it was because there were magic hours at 8am open? But there were definitely attendants there at 7:15 when we went to Animal Kingdom.
I have a very hard time believing they don't have attendants on site at 7:30 for Magic Kingdom opening at 9 considering it takes forever to get inside the gates from the parking lot.

Another note, I guess they are going to start towing people? or ticketing? Or what? Parking has been fairly open at a lot of the resorts in the past. What about larger families that stay in a suite? They are going to have to start paying for multiple cars?
For those that say "I fly", well if they start charging for people to park then the airport shuttle is going to be the next thing they charge for.

Went for Mardi Gras and park opened at 9 each day. Never went to a early magic day park. This worked at Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Had breakfast at 8 most mornings but got to Animal Kingdom early to beat the Avatar crowds. We were 3rd in line.
