You don’t like the John Wayne TP the condo provides?

I don't mind it. They usually only have a few rolls stocked in the unit though.

Just drove through the area where the mass check point was. They are no longer requiring everyone to pull over. There are still a bunch of cops and a set up for people to pull off, did not see anyone pulled over but would assume they are making LA people pull over?

As long as you aren’t flying LA flags or LSU gear, how would people know where I’m from?

For the incident I mentioned, my friends pulled up at a house and the old neighbor lady saw their plates and felt the need to come over and inform them that they needed to stay inside. They basically told her to fck off.

Just booked a crazy, last minute house in FL...if I get asked where I’m from I’ll give the twangiest MS voice I can muster.

I am leaving two weeks from today. I will leave my LSU gear at home (although I do have two LSU license plates on my car). I certainly don't have any Florida Gators gear, but maybe when I go to Buc ee's in route to Hwy. 90 to bypass the checkpoint, I will buy a Gators hat in order to blend in.

Just went through the checkpoint. Took about 5 minutes, which is the longest it’s taken thus far in 4 trips. Only two cars pulled to the side, one with Louisiana plates and another with no plates. This is going to be a cluster frick the next 3 days if they don’t pack it up.

Time you think is best for Saturday? Decided it would be less busy than Friday, so we’ll just stay until Tuesday...

First goal is to make it through the tunnel before lunch.

Hard to say, because I’m not sure how many rentals are requiring Saturday to Saturday.

As usual earlier the better due to check in usually being at 4:00. If you’re at the Tunnel before noon you should be fine.

Good move staying until Tuesday because Monday will be a cluster heading back to LA.

We had a place booked in seagrove until the owner called last night and said she needed to cancel because we are from Louisiana. She said that the owner occupied portion of the development is vigilant and is going out of their way to harass people and get the sheriff involved. Not worth my time or effort to deal with the potential bs. Sucks not to go. Booked a place in bay st Louis a few minutes ago. I know it isn't remotely close to the same beach. I just need to go on a vacation somewhere. Anywhere. At the very least, my steaks and drinks will taste the same regardless of location.

How is the aclu not involved in this? The entire situation seems unconstitutional to me. I guess travel related discrimination doesn't fit their agenda.

What’s the likelihood that DeSantis will continue this policy through June and into July? We have our annual family beach trip planned for the first week of July. It’s not an issue for my wife and I since we are Texas residents, but it could potentially ruin things for my folks and my sister and her family, all of whom live in Louisiana. Should we start looking at alternative locations now, or wait a bit and see how things shake out?

thinking of going to Florida June 18th and have a checkpoint question. My car has Louisiana plates and my license is Louisiana (New Orleans). I don't want to book if they won't let me in the state. We have inlaws in Alabama on the way, if i swapped cars and was driving a vehicle with Alabama plates would i even get stopped?

Yeah, we got a place in orange beach from Monday-Sunday. Based on the availability on VRBO starting Monday it looks like things will clear out, at least a little bit, after memorial day.

I saw some folks from Louisiana earlier in Rosemary today. Also sat next to Kirby Smart at dinner. Refrained from asking him if he thinks there will be football this year.

Just keeping you guys updated in Alabama. Sprectrum resorts is at 100% occupancy starting Friday. That’s the Beach Club and Turquoise place. I’ve been getting emails since 3am. Supplies for restaurants are touch and go. My bread factory is on quarantine. We won’t be fully supplied until 6/29. Stock up before you come here.

As of 45 minutes ago, The Dixie here in Miramar Beach was, for the most part, fully stocked.

Stopped in about 30 minutes before close and they were rolling out carts ready to fill the shelves back up.

Apologies if I missed it, but what's the alternative route to avoid the checkpoint? Heading to Walton County.
