Returned from this trip last week
Started the trip with a long layover in Doha, took a small tour around the city, that you can reserve within the airport

Beautiful clean city with an amazing airport with a garden in it

First day in Kathmandu, saw the monkey temple, the area where they do outdoor cremations, and the largest stupa in the city

Started the trek with a flight to Lukla and a short hike to Phakding

Worlds most dangerous flight

Tons of pack animals on the trail

Next day Phakding to Namche Bazaar, with an acclimatization day in Namche. Huge climb up to Namche

Very high Hillary suspension bridge

First view of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam(left to right)

Next day is a hike up to Tangboche and a trip to the monastery

Next day is a hike up to Tengboche at 4410 meters, also a great sunset view of Lhotse

After another acclimatization day we head up to Lobuche, well above the tree line. There are memorials to climbers lost on Everest including Robb Hall and Scott Fischer who were the climbers that were played by actors in the movie “Everest”

Next day we made it to Everest base camp at 5364m (17,600ft) altitude is no joke up here

Starting to head back down, random pics of the last few days

Pic of the porters carry most of the items to all the towns and villages along the trail, very hard life

Amazing views of Everest from Kala Pathar

Overall it was an incredible trip, the people of Nepal are extremely friendly and happy even with the widespread poverty. It really puts things in perspective. Overall the trip was 11 days of hiking, most of this in high altitude. Did the tour with g adventures, which was incredible, quite a few of the group had problems with altitude sickness, mostly at Gorek Shep and base camp. Everyone was able to make it to base camp and back safely.
Enjoy and please add to the trip reports.

Incredible trip report and definitely one of the most unique ones we’ve had on this board

Out of curiosity, what was the cost of your Basecamp excursion through G adventures?

Plenty of people spend that just to sit on the beach, and you used that money to have an incredible adventure.

So your trip was just to base camp to see the scenery? That’s a something I’ve always wanted to do. I’ll never climb the mountain, but would love to see the area.
