How is it? Is it worth an extra $100 to go with delta or Continental?

Louisiana to ATL. This flight is out of MSY, but I could fly from BR for $100 more.

Rough your knuckles up a bit before you get to the airport.

You're gonna need a time machine along with that extra $100

If you like Wal-Mart over Target/Whole Foods then you will enjoy Spirit.

I took them once on a last minute trip. Because of that, they were much cheaper than any other airline. I only brought a small carry on and knew what I was getting into before hand. If you know what to expect, it is not that bad. They will nickle and dime you on everything extra.

Any flight under 2 hours it is worth it IMHO. Just sit in the seat and fly. Not sure what else is needed.

You'd be hammered on whiskey and picking a fight before the plane got off the ground chap.

Actually... Go do it. The guys will love the fb video you post of the scene

A plane is a plane. It gets you from point A to point B. Just get the cheapest one.

I've always wanted to fly them just to see how crazy they really are but it would have to be a spur of the moment thing with a couple of extra days for padding where I wouldn't give much of a shite if my origin or return flight got cancelled.

I've flown with them about 8 times and never had an issue. Make sure you know what they will charge extra for, and plan accordingly. Apparently they have a terrible delay/cancellation rate. If your flight is cancelled they won't do anything to help you out.

What dates? I'm seeing it as low as $147 on Delta for the nonstop out of MSY in May, June, July and August

Even southwest has roundtrip flights nonstop for $98 in May and June... I'd suggest them over spirit anyday for a $10 difference
