Check schedule for Ryman Auditorium, they have some good concerts. I saw Morgan Wade last week. Truist parking garage right next door.

Vince Gill at The Ryman was one of the best concerts I’ve seen. And I’ve seen many and am not a big Gill fan. The dude is amazing live.

Grand Ole Opry is worth seeing show. We went to a couple and enjoyed both. Check the schedule for anticipated lineup and buy tix in advance. Opry is 15 to 20 minutes or so drive from downtown, so be prepared to drive or Lyft. There is a big arse mall beside it, so you can shop for a while before the show.

Hotel prices in Nashville are absolutely outrageous these days. They think they're New York City.

We went last week and stayed in the airport area since we wanted to park our own car and drive most places. Ubers to and from Broadway were quick and were like $20 so when we wanted to go out we'd just hop in one and drink those nights.
There's a place with food called the Food Assembly on Broadway by Bridgestone that was so clutch after drinking. We got burgers, pizza, and sushi around midnight most nights.

I normally stay at the JW but for their prices recently I’d probably try the new four seasons.

Last weekend we stayed one night it was $800 for what’s normally been a solid $200-350/night place.

Stay in the good parts of town and try to plan around traffic.

My father lives in an RV at a nudist swingers campground near Nashville. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you stayed with him a few nights. You can thank me later.

Get your visits in now. Nashville is on the express train to “crime-ridden shithole”.

LINK

quote:

Up 8% from 2019, the violent crime rate in the Nashville, Tennessee, metro area stands at 616 incidents per 100,000 people — well above the national rate. The increase in violent crime in the Nashville area was led by homicides, which surged by nearly 29% year over year. Rising rates of deadly violence have continued well into 2021 in Nashville.

As of early July, 68 homicides were committed in the city proper, up from 43 at the same point in 2020 and 30 the previous year

Violent crimes per capita
New Orleans - 624
Nashville - 616

In less than two decades, Nashville will be on par with Jackson, MS. Your grandkids will grow up viewing Nashville the way you view Jackson.

Call bullshite

Spent a week there in March, staying downtown and walking around the touristy areas every night to eat/drink...

That place is incredibly clean, and you could walk 20 blocks without seeing bums or someone asking you about your shoes

Downtown Nashville is how everyone's wife inexplicably remembers the French Quarter or 6th Street in Austin

It's Mt. Juliet. It's about 20 miles and will be a 30 minute drive into the city. You decide how much that inconvenience is worth.
