Taking a trip with the wife up to Nashville this summer. Where should we stay, and what should we see while there? Any tips are appreciated.

If you are just giving the wife the tip, you need to do more

As for Nashville I like to stay in the neighboring areas (cheaper hotels) and drive in.

What kind of food do you like?

Don't bring this to the travel board. Nashville has been covered 288 times.

The Holiday Inn on Broadway just down from Bridgestone Arena is nice and not priced crazy. About an 8 minute walk going to the bars, about an 18 min walk on the way back Lol

That is a decent option if plan on spending the majority of your time in that area

I tried to visit the Grand Ole Opry, but a bachelorette party on a bar bike blocked the view.

I then decided to go check out the Parthenon but a bachelorette party on a bar bike got in the way.

Defeated, I went back to my hotel room to discover a bachelorette party on a bar bike was in my bed.

I used to work there years ago. I recommend going in the fall instead of the summer. Drive down south of the city around the Brentwood and Franklin areas, that’s a gorgeous place in the fall. Open fields of rolling hills and beautiful colors among the stars’ mansions. Who knows, maybe that’s all developed now I don’t know. I’ve heard their city has changed drastically since 2015.

The Opryland hotel is nice but it’s one of those things where you’ve seen it once and that’s enough in my opinion. If you’re a country music fan obviously do that stuff. Have fun!

We just went there earlier this month. We stayed in an Airbnb across the river. It was a little ghetto ish neighborhood that was in the process of gentrification. But the rate was good.

We went to the Parthenon, it’s beautiful, and the downtown public library (because we’re nerds and they have some pretty well known exhibits), and then went to a three story bar (they’re everywhere, and they’ll all have bands, make sure to tip).

Tips: Stick with beer, when the tab came, I’d been paying $15 each for whiskey and Coke.

We had hot chicken at the touristy spot downtown. I was okay with that. The “real” place was down by music row, which we never made it to.

There is an old train station up broadway they converted into a boutique hotel. It’s pricey but well worth it.

Went several years ago and stayed at a hotel right off of Broadway. We were only in Nashville for 2-3 days. Wife is a huge country music fan and wanted to do the Broadway bar scene, so we wanted to be in walking distance to not have to worry about ubering everywhere. Our hotel was about 1 1/2 blocks off of Broadway.

During the day we did the Country music HoF, checked out pre-gaming at Titans stadium, and hit up Hattie's B's. We were told by the concierge to not go to the one downtown, and he sent us to the one in Melrose. Also spent an afternoon checking out a bunch of boutique shops on 12th Ave (she wanted to see Reese Witherspoon's shop Draper James)
