Let the annual exodus begin: where are you going this Mardi Gras? 'Bout to make my first departure from the new MSY. Feeling glad that I found someone to drop off and pick up.
Headed to Rome, Verona, Padua, Venice....and parts in between.

Headed to Galveston to get on a ship. Cozumel, Belize, Isla Roatan. I know wal-mart of the seas yada-yada, but it’s a free trip and it’ll be nice to unplug for a week.

Argentina -- Iguazu Falls, Tierra del Fuego, El Chalten, Bariloche, and Buenos Aires. I've packed too much into too little time, so it's going to be awesome and crazy.

Leave Saturday for Washington DC. Definitely jealous of all these replies of the out of country trips. Just keep telling myself, one day I'll get to Europe

DC is a great trip--no need to feel jelly. RE: Europe, get a travel rewards card w/big signup bonus, run daily expenses through it and pay it off each month. You'll be looking at free hotel nights and/or airfare sooner than you think.

I decided to do Mardi Gras this year.
I was going to take off when I thought I had Monday off, but due to work, I couldn’t take off Friday, we don’t have Monday off, I had to drop $600 on my car for repairs, a friend’s band is performing Friday night, and got offered to perform at Spanish Town, so I decided to wait on a vacation.

I think I’ll take a trip out to So Cal or NYC in the spring

It's not too bad. We have taken our 21 month old on 5 or 6 flights already and another one this coming Tuesday.

Just pack accordingly. Have snacks, toys, water/milk all easily accessible. The emergency and drink cards in the seat help buy you some time. Use them to point stuff out. Nothing like showing your kid a burning or sinking plane.
Not sure how active she is, but prepare for a lot of feet in your crotch

Our kid never took a pacifier, but I hear the sucking can help with ears popping.

Counter check the car seat. Gate check the stroller. If under two and they are not issued a ticket, you should go to the counter to have them verified with a copy of their birth certificate. They will ask who the child is sitting with, issue them a pdeudo ticket, and staple it to that parent's ticket.

I hope nobody on that ship gets coronavirus or you could be gone longer than a week.

Headed to San Diego Saturday to Saturday. First time making the Mardi Gras exodus. Usually ride Saturday in Tucks, but decided to do something different with the family this year.
