Overall, I'm a fan. I would not live here but it has a unique energy about it I haven't seen anywhere else in the world.

The history is just incredible. You all know about it so I won't touch on it. Everyone should come at least for a few days to see the sites alone.

I am by far the most under-dressed person in this city. If you want to come here and pick up locals, you better be looking like you stepped out of a GQ magazine. They take fashion really serious.

Everything is expensive as frick. I'm sitting in a starbucks with a $15 Orange juice and coffee. Dinner at an average restaurant was $50 last night. I broke my charger and it was $30 as well. Just stupid expensive.

The women are bad. All of them dressed to the 9s. I'll bring a better wardrobe next time I am here for sure. I think how you dress is more important than how physically attractive you are.

Heading to Istanbul on Friday for some of that Muslim arse.

Get your arse out of Starbucks, for Christ's sake.

Go eat all of the fois gras, cheese and burgundy that your body can handle.

But why? Its only expensive if you make it. Certainly Paris can be one of the most expensive cities in the world, no different then London, Hong Kong, etc.

But if you can't find great cheap food, then you are doing it wrong too.

Jesus, get the hell outta the Starbucks. Unless you were desperate for a place to pee, you have wasted precious time in a great city.

Find a bakery--practically any bakery--and eat a warm croissant (2-3 euros). Find a cafe with a terrace--drink a carafe of house wine (5 euros), enjoy the people watching (free).

If I were to wear khaki shorts, a polo, and sperries would I be looked down upon?

Have you entered any no go zones? Have you encountered any roving Moslem rape mobs? Good luck

I'm imagining this baw in a Bama cap, cut off sleeves, fanny pack, bit of chaw in his mouth. Going down to the starbucks for some authentic Paris cafe experience and saying "ParLAY Voo English, yall got that fancy coffee?"

Whereas I saw him in a LS JCrew plaid shirt, wearing a North Face jacket, "good" jeans, and boring shoes. Not a scarf in sight.

The visit to Starbuck's is indicative of a typical Bama Fan's idea of visiting "exotic" Paris:

Unique
Lots of history
Expensive
Beautiful women
High fashion

I feel these are things everyone knows about Paris regardless if they have visited or not

Yeah, in my experience, they are pretty similar. Both have extreme high end places, but both have plenty of lower end places that are no different than anywhere else. Maybe it's just easier for the average American to find the lower end places in NYC, and perhaps there a few more just because of the nature of the city, but I certainly don't think you can say in general that Paris is "much more expensive."
