I was in Italy two weeks ago. While I would agree that overall they dress better than us, it isn't to the degree some here are making it. I saw multiple Italians wearing Lees and Levis. I also saw plenty of Tshirts.
I will say that the men wear a better shoe almost 90% of the time, and 90% of the clothing I saw was black or darker blue.
I honestly think overall the men dress better in NYC, or for business they do, although jeans and a blazer are much more common.
