Some quick suggestions on what to do in London solo?
Go to the Aviva Championship (Super Bowl of England Rugby) at Twickenham on May 27th. Pick a jersey you like and pre game at the big area around the stadium.
Go to a concert at Koko or the Courthouse in Camden to see a different part of London.
Day trips out to Stonehenge and Bath.
Take the train over Wales and do the Brecon Beacons for a lovely hike (one of my favorites).
Like others will tell you, just touring around London and seeing what you like at your pace is great. And there are so many pubs to stop in and get a pint.

I, personally, would probably just go get lost in the mountains somewhere for a week or 2 if I were just coming off a divorce
This. Some solitude in Nature. Do a little hiking, a little fishing, or just sitting on a mountaintop taking it all in.

Ireland. I did a solo trip there many years ago, and once they heard my accent, it led to many long and fun nights in the pubs.

In a month? Alaska. June is a great month to visit there. Tons of sunlight. Fly to Anchorage, get a rental car, buy some basic camping supplies (hotels are expensive and the people in the campgrounds are more interesting), and go explore the Kenai Peninsula and up around Denali (Talkeetna is cool and maybe spend some time on the Denali Highway).

Do the four corners (Key West, Maine, Washington, San Diego) on a BNW motorcycle.

National Park...any of the majors would do. Plenty of time to think and be alone.

I didn't read the whole thread, so apologies if it has been said. My answer...Norway. It's breathtakingly gorgeous, you can be in cities one minute, then an hour later complete solitude. It is a massive country and I spent a little over 3 weeks there.
I would say fly to Oslo, rent a car, and just drive around the entire southern region. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I could give you a million recs and things to do.
PS: They have some of the greatest hikes in the world there, too if that's your thing

Fresh off a divorce, you probably need some hookers and blow. Go to Vegas and have a good time

I would rent a car and drive across the country with my ipod and/or satellite radio.
If thats too long then i would start in San Diego and drive up the coast until i got to Vancouver, stopping along the way of course

Age is about right. Why anyone gets married these days as a man is beyond me.
What area of the country interests you?

US is boring.
Id do a eastern europe backpacking trip. Maybe look into vietnam and see if it is something you would like. It is very cheap.
Columbia is a spot I always wanted to go to.
