Stairs, stairs, and more stairs! High altitude can be rough if you’re not used to it. Stay closer to the top or the bottom so you’ll be closer to that particular set of bathrooms and concessions.

Go the day before to do the loop hike and do a general walk through the amphitheater.

Plan on having a DD or an arranged ride to and from the show as Ubers can be hell to find.

Great experience overall and would go back. I’ve caught 5 shows there for reference.

Also, weed may be legal in state but not technically allowed inside. Just don’t be stupid and you’ll be fine.

Look up the Heilung concert they recently had there. It’s on YouTube. Music is strange but the performance and the environment is amazing!

Definitely worth it!

I saw NIN there on Labor Day weekend in 2022. On either side of the bleacher style seating are these dirt terraces. Most (maybe all) have small trees growing on them. I sat with my back against a tree both nights.

My wife and I are currently doing a road trip and were in Denver a few days ago. We visited the Red Rocks Amphitheater and it was absolutely amazing to see in the day. It was way bigger than I imagined and it was honestly just surreal to see in person. The views from the amphitheater were beautiful. I can only imagine how epic it would be to catch a concert there.

Probably the most epic show I have been at Red Rocks was the 2019 String Cheese Incident performance on the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing. They did three sets, and the first two were from their own tunes. The third set though was entirely space themed, and being a big fan of space and tripping my face off, it was probably the best show I’ve ever seen.

They did themes from Star Wars, 2001, Star Trek, Guardians of the Galaxy, Interstellar, Blade Runner, Buck Rogers, E.T., Close Encounters, Alien, etc. Absolutely fricking nuts and a wonderful time to trip your face off of.

Haven’t attended a concert there but the venue is nice and the hiking trail is awesome too.

It’s a cool venue. The altitude makes simple tasks like climbing a couple hundred steps difficult but more in a WTF way than exhausting. Getting out of there was a disaster. There is a designated Uber pickup area that is maybe a 20 minute walk once you leave. Better to arrange transportation ahead of time.

Went last year in October, needed a light jacket. It was a country line up the night I went, not a huge country fan but the view and the setting made it well worth it.

Some of the best tracers in the game out there. Of course when your favorite uncle ‘cid is out there too, that really gets those tracers dancing.

Saw Joe Bonamassa there last year, going 1st weekend of August to see him again. It’s a helluva experience. We do an all-inclusive so they have buses rented for the round trip from Denver to RR. Talked to our Uber driver on the way to the airport and he said many drivers won’t accept rides after the shows because it’s so difficult to get up there with after concert traffic. TIFWIW
