Family trip to Utah

Gonna meet the folks halfway for a family vacation in a month for some time with the family. The halfway point is basically Utah. If you had to spend a 7 day family vacation, which would include lots of swimming, which city in Utah would you select? The kids are 7 and 6.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Someplace in the mountains because it will be hot in Utah at lower elevations in a month

I'm thinking about Bear Lake, has anyone been there during the summer?

Springdale is my vote! Spend the week exploring Zion National Park. You could easily drive up to Bryce Canyon from there also.

Park City is an option. In addition to swimming, lots of hiking and the Olympic Park. And Salt Lake is not a bad drive from there.

Just did this. Stayed in St. George which is an hr drive south of Zion. 2 hr drive to Bryce. Plenty of hotels there and in Springdale with pools. More dining options and variety in St. George. It will be hot there.
Check out resorts outside of Ogden, hr north of SLC. Really beautiful there too. There’s an amusement/water park called Lagoon in Farmington halfway btn SLC and Ogden. They are open.

I’ve camped out in a tent on the shores of Bear Lake. It’s a beautiful area and really quiet, or at least is was 20 years ago. Park City would be a nice option also. There’s an alpine slide and nearby parks for plenty of hiking. You could also drive to Antelope Island to see the Bison.

I spent a night in Kanab, UT in 1970 at a tiny little Mom & Pop motel with a pool that was cold in August.
That’s all I got.
Good luck.

Park City or Salt Lake are the answers here. They are about 30-40 mins apart.

We are here in Springdale right now and it is pretty awesome!
I also saw a car with a Louisiana plate and a Brian Harris BR frame at the Zion Pizza and Noodle Co.
Crazy someone drove that far but hats off to them!

Are most places in the city open? Are there people in town?

We drove Louisiana to Utah and back in June. It just depends on the people if they can handle can handle the drive and each other.
The kids know on long road trips there will be at least one day each way that will be a long road day.

Drove straight through from Salt Lake to Lanana Creek on Toledo Bend. Had bed sores by the time I got there. Planned on stopping between Wichita Falls and Dallas but was wide awake. Decided I would go a little further. Once I got on the other side of Dallas got tired but was too close to my own bed and pushed through. Nearly 1,500 miles. My record is Baton Rouge to Green River, Wyoming (1,565) Young and dumb then. First time I tried 5-Hour energy drinks.

We did 4,200+ out there and back in June. Nothing to it.
