Not only that, the things outside of Vegas that people will attribute to Vegas are all available other places in the same region with better options.

The one thing Vegas does better than anywhere else is gambling...everything else it offers can be found better elsewhere. Maybe not on the same trip but if dining, shopping, hiking or golf was your objective it can all be found better places. If I am going to pay a premium I want a premium experience and with casino gambling and night clubs of zero interest to me it's a very very easy skip.

Costa Rica. Enjoyed it and never really felt unsafe but felt uncomfortable most of the time. Not what I want on vacation.

What made you uncomfortable in Costa Rica?

Vegas

Been twice. Felt ripped off both times. And hardly gambled.

By all means, please explain how my personal opinion on Chicago and Paris are wrong.

Look, I don’t expect everyone to like both places, and I certainly don’t expect people to want to go back if they have experienced them. But the reasons why you’re wrong are bonded in my response to you.

Not everyone in Paris is rude, and to say that nothing exciting is happening in Chicago is dumb.

Same. Never once felt uncomfortable or unsafe there. Planning to take my son next year.

This one is interesting because I found Costa Rica to be one of the places I've travelled where I've felt the safest. It felt like a place I wouldn't mind living. What made you uncomfortable?

Paris. Nothing specific, I guess I don’t get the fascination. Great architecture, wonderful food, friendly people. I just don’t care to go back. I love France and have stayed in Bayeux twice and would go back there anytime.

I went to Tarpon Springs, FL. It was a fun little Greek town where they spongefish and have a ton of Greek restaurants and bakeries. No issues withe the food, but it's kind of touristy, and they have guys who get paid to try and get you to park in a particular parking lot and eat at a particular restaurant. Pushy.

It was good, but I kind of like the laid back beach towns with tiki bars on the water and seafood restaurants.. I preferred Dunedin and Anna Maria, TBH.

Monaco. Cool place but you could knock it out in a day operating under a standard budget. I imagine it's a lot different if you're a billionaire.

I found Costa Rica to be a very cool place but if someone is in San Jose for a while, I imagine they could feel unsafe.

It’s just much gloomier than the rest of the country, and while this is hyper-specific, I saw the same two extremely haggard junkies multiple times over 36 hours by our hotel, which was certainly not in a bad area by any means . They seemed too strung out to be at all threatening, but 6 years later, I still remember them.

From a limited exposure to Limon, it was just a typical poor, rundown Latin American city.

The touristic areas and beach/country side are lovely though. It’s pretty much a full day to get there from the US but then very cool afterwards.

China, Beijing and Shangai, Seoul Korea. Just go to Japan and stay there if you are flying that way. I would go back to China to go see the natural wonders, but the cities are junk compared to Japan.

Curious why you would say this. It’s on my list for food. Was it overrated?

I think the hype it gets raised my expectations. The food was good but not as good as in Madrid. Like I said, I enjoyed it but for me, it wasn't an amazing place that I want to go back to.

Loved San Sebastian- Manageable size and our experience we found the food to be much better than in Madrid. Bilboa was also excellent.

For me Madrid is that place that I don't feel the need to go back, but maybe because we hit it when it was too hot.

Everest base camp trek, it was beautiful beyond words, but the tough hike and dealing with the elevation and the grungy tea houses. It was a bucket list item and something I would recommend 100%, but would never do again.
