Want to get away for a few days the week after Christmas. My wife is into the “small town Christmas” thing. TIA

Meh, I don’t think Andalusia is the one I’d pick.

I'll agree with SloaneRanger. Andalusia isn't the first place I would think of for small town Christmas.

Andalusia does a Christmas thing, called Christmas in Candyland, but you are still going to be in southeast Alabama.

Travel a little further and check out Dahlonega, Georgia. It is up in the mountains, or at least the foothills, and the town has been used for several of the Hallmark Christmas movies.

You could also check out Helen (a bit further east, right in the mountains). It is a bit more touristy - a recreated Alpine village - but still cute and decorated for Christmas. I know Hallmark and Lifetime have filmed there.

I’ve lived relatively close to Andalusia, AL most of my life and I can’t tell you a damn thing about it.

My grandfather is from there and I have never been, Think he only went back once or twice. Can't be much happening.

Nothing else going on in Andalusia besides the Christmas in Candyland! Never thought of Andalusia as a getaway location (unless hiding from the law, lol).

Go see the lights and display at Calloway Gardens, GA instead.

You are the first person I've ever seen ask about vacationing in Andalusia.

If you're looking for this sort of thing, I would think about Texas Hill Country.

German population so they have Christmas villages and what not.

Stay in Fredericksburg or the like and visit many of the towns.

Do a wine tasting day or two, etc. Lots to do, good restaurants, good wine. Small towns.

we have to drive through there 6x a year going back & forth to the beaches (spring break, summer, fall break) and it seems they're sprucing up the town square but not much else.

we did stay at the little roach motel in town one time and almost died from the meth-d out couple fighting outside our door all night.

My wife has found a lot of ways to spend money that I would have never considered. Going to Andalusia is not one of them.

Andalusia isn’t a place to spend the night. Stop and get Dairy Queen and keep driving.

As others have said, go to Fairhope. A wonderful little town anytime of year and plenty of Christmas stuff.
