In a whim, I’m looking to take kids out of town this fall. No real destination in mind. What’s the best site (other than S’West’s Want to get Away) for flights anywhere? Just looking for a good deal, preferably nonstop, to some place interesting

With my shite eyesight, I thought the thread title was "Best Site for Fights."

I was going to say Sonic.

Google Flights is pretty good if you have some destinations in mind.

I’m not sure what is different about either or if one is necessarily better than the other.

I try to avoid flying now if at all possible, which is sad because I used to enjoy flying. The experience though has become an exercise in physical and mental torture. When I can’t avoid it though, I usually just use the Delta app because I still have a small modicum of trust in Delta.

At flights.google.com you can click on Explore at the top and just put in the airport you want to leave from and it will give you a map with prices to everywhere you can fly to with prices.

Thanks guys. Was looking at Southwest’s Wanna Get Away but many of the good flights/prices were at an awful time or had long layover. Fine for me, but not possible with multiple kids…

Also wanted to broaden my destinations

It will also give you alerts when the price drops

I just realized last month Google Flights will search open ended for deals.

From: MSY to "anywhere" or "USA" and narrow it by the dates you are interested in.

If you don’t have a place in mind, finding a flight might be a problem, regardless of what site you choose

Google let's you search "anywhere" as long as you have a starting location so you can literally just see all possible flights and prices from your home airpoet

Use Google Flights to find the fare one desires and book it directly with the airline. Book it directly with the airline. Book it directly with the airline.

Book direct with airline web site. These middlemen can cause issues. You can do a broad search but see a specific airline then go to their website.
