I'm a big fan of Going - you plug in your home airport(s), and a couple times a week they email you flight deals from your airports to destinations domestic and international.
The missus and I went to Taiwan direct roundtrip this April for $1050 - thats for both tickets. They send you lots of domestic deals as well. Well worth the subscription cost imo.

I like exploring on Google Flights. Easy to explore different places and compare prices across airlines.

This cannot be stressed enough. Go third party and you risk getting played like a chump. Find the fare, but book directly with the airline.
And if you can swing it, buy refundable tickets.

I always get GeoBlue with $500 deductible. But that’s medical insurance- not CFAR ( cancel for any reason) insurance.
I don’t buy CFAR - instead I buy refundable air abd train tickets and make flexible reservations for hotels.
SWA does show up in Google searches.

You can choose where you want to connect, avoid certain airports or airlines, decide how long a layover you’re willing to have, search only certain airlines, and see exactly what kind of ticket and fare you’re getting. Google owns it. Just be sure to book directly with the airline.
Also try a pay site for alerts. It takes a bit to learn but is quite extensive.
