There’s nothing at stake. They aren’t getting into the tourney. Do you honestly think that this pitching staff will all of a sudden stop throwing balls, walking everyone and giving up hits/HRs because the “season was on the line”? The season was on the line every game of the year.

What do you mean? The NFL does this every year. You do realize that the donors to each school collectively have more wealth than most of the billionaires that own an NFL team correct. The amount of money spent on college rosters are relative to nickels and dimes of the collective donor groups

This equates to only 1 more hit in every 10 at bats. Don’t act like this turns around every game. The timing of the that extra hit would also need to be correct for any benefit to actual occur.
