Just booked a day of private lessons at Copper first weekend of March. I'm ready to start hitting the park and practicing ramps, boxes, rails, etc. Any tips for a park beginner would be appreciated.

Don't drink too much first night "in camp." The altitude adjustment will make an average hangover hell.

Baws, how easy is it to mount and adjust your bindings? Current skis have about 100 days on them. Time for something new. Being in LA no place for tuning.

It's a pain in the arse without the right equipment. It requires an expensive mounting "jig" for the specific brand of binding. Bring a 12 pack of some local beer to a ski shop anywhere out west and you'll probably get them mounted for discount/free/faster than you would otherwise. Even I have to take them to a shop to get mounted.

Adjusting bindings isnt that difficult depending on the binding. Demo bindings are particularly easy for moving the heel and toe to fit the boot.

Most ski shops say at least 2-3 day turnaround time for new mounts/testing

I might try to buy some lightly used demos when I go up in March and avoid the trouble

Looking for something like a Soul 7

You can usually pay extra to get rush service done. Place by me in Denver charges an extra $35 for it.

You baws in Tahoe going out today? Just saw the winds in Heavenly are 60-80 mph.

I have never been in anything like that. Don't know what to expect next week

Throw a fellow Swanson a short trip review when you get back I'll be there right after you.

Jackson just keeps getting hammered!

I was supposed to start a 3 day ski mountaineering course tomorrow, but our guide postponed because of high avy danger. So I guess I'll just go ski some deepness at the resort!

I'll be skiing the pineapple express at Breck on Friday. Feel sorry for all the chumps going to Vail on Friday trying to chase powder. They'll be getting rained on waiting in line for the gondola .

Im in Steamboat, and the powder is incredible today. The drive in from Denver was pretty damn tough yesterday, but we made it, and are reaping the benefits today. A foot total expected from yesterday through tonight.

The storm coming in tonight is a warmer one. Snow/rain elevation forecasted around 8000'. Glad you had good snow today. Looks like you're probably getting rain tonight/tomorrow. I'm headin up to Silverthorne later tonight after dinner with the gf. If 70 is open, I'm gonna try. Figured it'd be better than trying early in the morning.

Abasin announced today that they will not renew their relationship with Vail Resorts next season. No idea if they will bundle up with other resorts passes or just have their own.
