When was the last time Apple came out with something truly inivative?

Joke's on me I guess because were a full fledged Apple family.
But, seriously. The iPhone? 2007? We're nearing 20 years. All it seems they do now is copy.

They don't need to now. They've had the Apple cult eating from their hands for those decades, and those people will willingly buy almost anything Apple puts out.

Apple has never been innovative. They just make a good quality version of what other companies invent and then market the hell out of it.

when was the last time any company has come out with something innovative in the phone, PC, laptop, watch, headphones space?
I think the vision pro was a pretty cool product, but too early and bulky for people to buy in to that.

They are masters at forcing non-Apple users to subsidize their profits.That’s the innovation.
They’re very innovative forcing media/ai/social companies to charge Apple users more or less standard subscription rates while Apple takes 1/3 of the money. Out of all major platforms, I think only Elon has told them to piss off.
They are innovative at collecting a toll on credit card transactions and effectively forcing debit and cash purchasers at most businesses to pay 5% more for everything.
Their chips are top notch but that is to be expected when paying for the latest lithography and highest transistor counts. Not innovative.
Operating the Apple toll booth is their primary business. User facing hardware and software is just a means to keep that gravy train running.

Royole Flexpai was the first folding phone, but are any of the foldables really that popular? according to a google search they are less than 2% of the market

Google is starting to tick off Pixel owners by rolling out new phones without sending the new features to older phones.
I have a Pixel 10 Pro XL. 16gb RAM. The new 11 pros start with only 12gb of RAM. Google installed features on that phone it will not send to the 10 Pro XL even though it can run them.

The M series chips. Apple Silicon has been a huge improvement on the Mac side.
Apple has never been the bleeding edge company. Apple is the "it just works" company that makes polished products. Apple sells you an ecosystem where your phone, laptop, headphones, tablet, TV, etc all fall in line and work together.
Also think that the smartphone is a mature product at this point. I don't know what innovation we're expecting.
Plus blue texts don't make you look poor.

apple didn't invent the smartphone. I'm not sure they have ever been innovative unless you consider a fully locked/closed environment as innovative.

This. We are currently near the limit of how much processing power we can put in a small, passively cooled device while still having sufficient battery life for what the average consumer expects.
Unless/until we have either a major processing architecture breakthrough, a major battery breakthrough, or both, we are living in a refinement phase.

the macbook processor is truly amazing. i can charge my macbook and use it for a solid week or more.
