looking at a 65" TCL 6 series or the Samsung Q60 qled. I see they've had them as low as 650 or 700 at points this year, and now they're both 800, but trying to decide if I really want to wait to upgrade three months to save...what a hundred bucks? Or might it be more than that?

Get the TCL an LG. I personally think there’s something weird about the picture on Samsung TVs

My problem with LG is, I have had two that just stopped working. One was under warranty. It then did it again within 1 year of repair, but more than 1 year from purchase. They wouldn't do anything. Can't buy them anymore.

Buy it from Costco and you'll get at least 4 years return for any reason no questions asked.

I wouldn't pay less to buy anywhere else for that reason alone.

If your tv is going to screw up is going to happen inside 4 years and honestly the tech is so dated by then you're going to want something new anyway.

The problem with the deal you get on black Friday is the TV only comes with 1HDMI port. Just keep an eye on it or take advantage of price matches.

Just get the TCL 8 series. The 65 inch was down to $999 last week. That's 50% off.

A couple weeks prior to the superbowl is the best time to purchase a TV. Black Friday is overrated for TV purchases unless you are looking for a tier C brand sold at Walmart.

Avoid all Chinese made brands including TCL no matter how much people rave about them.

Buy Korean, Japanese, or American.

Samsung, LG, Sony, or Vizio. I wouldn't consider any other brands. The Vizio 2020 M- series is the best bang for buck and you would be buying American.

If you think the prices on TV’s are inflated right now, don’t go shopping for a deep freezer

They make special models with less features they can sell dirt cheap in stores to draw people in. Always check the specs.

All black Friday merchandise is of inferior quality and has been for a while now.

Huh? Their return policy is 90 days on a TV.

Because people are somehow convinced this will be payback for the virus that they perceived as an attack from China.

China has a shitty regime with loads of human rights violations, so I'm not going to defend them. All the TVs in my household are TCLs though.

Maybe that's part of it. The rest is that China steals tech/IP from all over the world and is entering a cold war with America. Although I think people should express similar ire at Amazon and the like who sell these products, especially ones that involve obvious IP theft.

I'm not going to tell people not to buy TCLs, but I personally won't even though it sounds like the product is quite good. Which is a bummer, because I'd love to get a great deal on a high quality TV.
