Also this. If you got into a car in the 80s with a stereo like this, you though you were getting laid that night.

You probably didn't. But it was still a bad arse experience. Queue the Egyptian Lover.

I have a Bose Revolve bluetooth sound speaker and I just love the idea of having extremely great quality of music anywhere I choose. I use it while working outside, cooking, cleaning, and just when I want to get -groovy-

I have to say, I have gotten a lot of use out of mine(Nyne Bass) and would never cut another hole in a boat because these things are so good. I can also listen to whatever I want in the detached garage without turning up the patio system.

PONG. My brother and I saved our money, bought it from Spinks TV for $79 in about 1973 or 1974.

Really tough one... the way I'm deciding it is how long I hung onto the pick after I had long ceased using it, for sentimental reasons.

Nakamichi BX-300 cassette deck. Bought in 1985 when Nakamichi was the absolute shite in mobile audio b/c of their high quality cassette decks. Their "Dragon" was a legendary piece of audio gear but way out of my league so the BX-300 at about 1/3 the price (I still paid $700) was all I could swing. I also ended up getting a Nakamichi car deck too a bit later. I was in college at the time and spending the vast majority of any spare $ on audio gear/music.

Sears TeleGames. Sears version of the Atari system. My older brother and sister new I wanted one so they went to my parents and voluntarily received less for Christmas.

Couldn’t find an Atari but happened to walk into Sears. Great fun, even my dad would play. Sweet memories

Same here... but it's probably the old Panasonic AM/FM Cassette Stereo. It was like pulling eye teeth to get it for Christmas and it lasted forever and ever. It's still somewhere out in the shop, probably close to a pencil with an eraser.

... it likely ate a mile of cassette tape but they were copies and not the original.

I had the same Sears branded Atari, “Video Game Arcade”. Telegames was the Intellivision version. I forgot what game it came with, but it was better than the one the Atari 2600 came with (Battlefield?). Those were the good ole days when video games had an end & you wound up bored with them & went outside to do something productive.

Smartphones have taken the fun out of everything. It was far more interesting when we needed a gadget for everything.
