Everyone hates the one dude who doesn’t have iMessage in group chats. Don’t be that guy that has to be edgy.

I’m certainly no Apple fanboy, but I love these types of comments. What exactly are you doing everyday with your tech, Elon Musk?

I was offered a free iPhone 14 pro last year from work and I turned it down. Nah I'll just keep this Pixel 5 and see where it takes me

Where Apple really beats Android is on customer service. You can chat with someone online or make a genius appointment. The message boards are filled with horror stories of customer service at Google, Samsung, and Oneplus.
People know if an Apple product breaks and they have AppleCare, they are good. The others treat you like crap or treat customer service as an afterthought.

But after more than a decade of using Android I have never had a phone break (that wasn't my own doing and my own fixing). It's a conscious decision to not get raped on purchase nor on a useless insurance policy, and I will make that same decision every time.

Android, bc it would be exhausting caring/thinking about other peoples phones as much as some iPhone users do
This right here.
The only people who ever complain or care are Apple people.
The best part is they believe their phones are the majority

I just hate group chats. And I’m an Apple guy

Statistics don’t bear this out. In fact, the younger generations seem to be more likely to have an iPhone than gen x.
Most professionals I know have iPhones. Blue collar workers tend to have android phones.

You're also paying for all the well done, and tightly integrated software that comes with the eco system.

I'm more tech savvy than the average person, but I use Apple phones. I view the phone as an appliance and not a tinker toy which is what a lot of android users want
I tried Android a few years ago and basically developed this mindset. I prefer things to be thought out for me on my phone, I already spend too much time on it. Apple may only have one way to do things, but it does everything you want it to. I liked the phones I had and each had cool features the iPhone didn’t, but this also made them feel unfocused, trying to be different rather than better.
As far as being bought into the ecosystem, that includes other apple users. iMessage plays a whole lot better with other phones these days, but things like sharing pictures and contacts is really nice.
Also, while I’m not cycling through phones very quickly, switching phones on an Apple device is an incredibly seamless experience. You can drop your phone in the ocean and be back up running maybe 30 minutes after getting a new one.

I’m not savvy enough to relate to this

My firm is run through Google Workspace, so the native phones actually do really make a difference.
I will say that if Microsoft hadn't bumbled their phones, I'd likely be on a Microsoft phone via their platform for the same integration.

I don't think this is any different on android.
I bring one of my old 3As anytime we go somewhere because if my main phone dies, all I have to do is turn that one on, basically, and it's up and running.

Microsoft couldn't get the apps for its phones. Didn't matter how much money it threw at them, developers only want to fool with one or two systems and that's it.

Luckily Microsoft has fully adapted their products for Android so the interaction is still robust. I don't think their products work as well for Apple (but I'm willing to be told otherwise. I'm not an expert on Apple apps).

That is the real reason you don't have real competition in phones.
BB ran into it as well but it made things way too hard for developers and then when it finally figured it out, it had lost so much market share that it coudlnt' get the apps.
MS literally threw money at it but developers weren't interested. That is part of the problem. If you can't offer those top 20 or 30 apps on your phone, no one will buy it. They couldn't get Instagram, Netflix, and other popular apps.
Now it's moved from apps to ecosystems. BB didn't have the capital to develop ecosystems properly, much less the coming AI features. Windows did but then it runs into the app and hence, market share problem.
Truth is, we are getting less competition in phones. I'm with Xfinity Mobile, even if I buy my own unlocked phone, I can only use Apple, Samsung, Motorola, or Google on the network. Nothing else is whitelisted.

I can tell you from experience that Apple makes this a much easier and more accurate process.

Android has made it much easier. twice in the last month I've had to transfer everything to a new phone. Took about an hour but worked like a charm.
