As someone who has seen both of them play in person several times, Messi is

Major difference is lebron has the 4th most assists of all time. Ronaldo only has 156 assists in 24 seasons.

Its okay to go defensive but not concede all the possession and create nothing for the last 20-30 minutes of the game.
