Maybe it’s my American ignorance, but this great technical strategy of letting the other team have the ball the entire time and shoot a million shots seems dumb

I dont follow soccer much but i can see that argentina seems to just hog the ball and england cant go in the other direction Wtf is up? It’s like they arent trying to go on offense.
Both sides locked in their strategy and things can flip really quickly if you push too much and get out of position.
Someone who knows more might correct this, but the decision to play this way was the mistake, not the actual play on the field.
