Most decent players don’t play high school anymore so it’s hard to judge level of play on high school soccer.

Not sure exactly what FC Dallas team, but a kid in our street has been playing in the league/club for years (including traveling some) and plays for high school team as well. Talking to his parents most play for high school during school year, but that might be dependent on the school districts within metroplex and how they work with FC Dallas.

Just depends on the club/coach. It’s becoming more common for club coaches to not allow players to play high school ball.

There is a big drop from Club to HS level in the DFW area.

This is really only relevant when women compare themselves to the men (or white knighting douche men do it).

Which, unfortunately, is happening all the time over the last month or so because of the equal pay myth and other insertions of politics.

Junior high? That seems like a stretch.

13-15 yr old boys who have gone through puberty and are bigger, stronger and faster than women isn’t really a stretch imo. I think it would be competitive, but I do think an “all star” squad would win some.

Considering the fact that an Under 15 team handily beat the USWNT, I don't think it's a stretch at all to think an All-Star squad of junior high players would be able to beat the USWNT.

is based on how much money they bring in, which is comparable to the men’s team. If people watch they should get paid

That's fine for base pay which the USF has said based on the current CBA the pay per match is near equal. The USWNT is complaining the bonuses are not equal they receive from USF based on World Cup performances. The problem is World Cup bonuses/pay are taken from what FIFA gives the teams. If you take that into consideration the women are paid twice as much as the men.

How about let’s let the men not get embarrassed by 3rd world countries before we start talking about beating a woman’s team.

As others have said. Why does it matter? I mean if a group of 12 year old girls won a soccer championship would you ask the same question?

Would you expect someone to say a team of 9 year old boys?

Well I think it matters when people say, the women are better than the men, they should get paid more.

They aren't better than the men. They just happen to live in a country where title ix puts women athletes in this country ahead of women athletes across the globe. They have an advantage over other women. And are better than other women.

Not men. It's just the truth.

This too. I'd bet more mexicans watched that gold cup last night than Americans watched the women's final.

Men make more because they are getting a share of a bigger pie.

They are making money off the victory tour, and they make money off their other endorsement deals.

According to figures provided by U.S. Soccer, since 2008 it has paid 12 players at least $1 million. Six of those players were men, and six were women. And the women hold their own near the top of the pay scale; the best-paid woman made about $1.2 million from 2008 to 2015, while the top man made $1.4 million in the same period. Some women in the top 10 even made more than their male counterparts over those years.

Saw this earlier.

So your Megan rapinoe and Alex Morgan's are making the same if not more money than men.

I'm guessing she's not willing to give up her money to her teammates or any player that gets capped so they are on equal footing.

She's a fricking turd.

But did they have to play more games than the men to get paid that much?

Comprehensice WP Article on the topic
quote:

The Fact Checker obtained the new agreement, which took effect in April 2017. Using the same 20-game scenario, we calculated the player on the women’s team would earn $28,333 less, or about 89 percent of the compensation of a similarly situated men’s team player. If both teams lost all 20 games, the players would make the same amount. That’s because the men earn a $5,000 bonus when they lose and the women have a $100,000 base salary.

quote:

“The male players are paid when they play, but not when they sit,” McCann said. “USMNT players must thus be on the roster to be pay eligible. USWNT players, in contrast, are guaranteed pay.”

quote:

Under the women’s new bargaining agreement, the players can also earn attendance bonuses, payment for commercial appearances and per diems that are equal and tied to what the men can earn.

quote:

Total prize money for the Women’s World Cup in 2019 is $30 million — the champions will walk away with about $4 million. For contrast, in the 2018 Men’s World Cup, the champions won $38 million from a total pool of about $400 million. In other words, the champions from the men’s world cup were awarded more than the total prize money in the women’s tournament.

quote:

Jeffery Kessler, the female players’ attorney, said via email: “The USSF has an obligation under US law to provide equal pay regardless of how FIFA discriminates. The discrimination against the women occurs in both Non- World Cup games and World Cup games.”

quote:

including paying the top players’ salaries for the National Women’s Soccer League

TL/DR The two teams have different unions, USWNT union wanted more guaranteed pay, USMNT wanted more bonus pay for playing and winning. FIFA "Men's" World Cup is much more lucrative than the Women's World Cup.

The women get contracts with guaranteed pay and win bonuses, the players get paid whether they play or not, win or not. The men's team members have to play and have to win the matches to make more than the women.

Women's Union said pay us no matter what, so that's what they got.
Low Risk, Smaller Reward.
Men's Union said pay us to play and win, so that's what they got.
High Risk, Bigger Reward.
