Got to takes this 2-0 to half. They are going to have to soften the back line in the 2nd half to get pressure and that will open it up

OK. I’m a typical American bandwagon soccer fan. Watch when there is a USA team - Olympics, World Cup, etc. I’m not an expert on the rules by any means.
That said, I thought it was against the rules of soccer to grab opponents and pull them to the ground, kick them, and otherwise physically assault them. I get that there will be contact when two players are fighting for the ball. But this seems way above what should be allowed. Or has the game changed that this is how it’s played now?

They’ve let a lot more go this tourney. Not giving as many ticky tack fouls when players dive to ground but Australia is being way too physical

I started following during the 2010 World Cup & I remember the reddit USMNT abroad threads back in the early 2010s. Some weeks it seemed like we hardly even had guys playing in the 2nd tier leagues Now we have so many guys playing I can't keep up anymore.
The MLS academies have been huge for our talent pool imo

They changed the rules hoping that posters on tigerdroppings.com would stop calling it gay.
