Berhalter is an idiot for Acosta as an 8. Also, that is close to your full A lineup for who’s available. They are gonna be worn out for Panama, the more important match.

I like it. Wish Reyna was in, but if he comes in as a sub he might just break them.

I don’t like the midfield three. Too defensive and doesn’t fit our 433 unless we are running two defensive mids and one attacking mid in a 4231. Adams and Acosta are not great at ball progression. Would prefer LDLT to Acosta.

We’re at 7200 feet in Mexico, they’re in Panama.

Look at record of teams this cycle after their games in Azteca. Look at our overall second game record.

The trend does not support this as your starting lineup.

How does Mexico do it? Are they just that much better conditioned than us or is their second game lineup heavily rotated?

Not sure how they do it, but the visitors don’t. The focus needs to be Sunday and I don’t think this does that.

Acosta has proven to be an ineffective 8. We will see tonight. Hopefully maybe a tactical move to lock down the midfield early and bring on an offensive minded player in the second half

The only real gripe I have is Adams. Mexico is going to do their damnedest to get him on a yellow which would rule him out of the Panama game. Super risky.

Debate all you want about the lineup for Panama, but Mexico is at its weakest right now. If ever there were a time to go for a win at Azteca, it is tonight.

Also, Greggggg screwed up Panama by rotating too much so maybe he's trying to correct here.

Not saying he's right or wrong, I just hope we win.
I would have preferred to see Adams on the bench though.

A tie would be a pretty massive result. I like the lineup.

Playing him tonight guarantees he plays 2 matches this window. Sitting him tonight could result in him only playing 1 match.

Probably regretting overthinking it and rolling out that MLS lineup in Panama. Hopefully we get results tonight and Sunday and we can send the USL squad to Costa Rica!
