the biggest challenge for England isn't the crowd... it's the altitude... they may be soccer players and in good condition, but playing at the altitude they will be playing in, and not acclimated to that, it's gonna be tough for them... it's a huge advantage for Mexico

Win-win outcome regardless, but I think I have to hope Mexico loses. Being eliminated from the WC in Azteca would be an all-timer.

England fans legit may be in danger leaving the stadium if Mexico loses.

I honestly wonder if they will need to call in the riot squad like they do when the USA plays there if England wins in order to get their fans out of the stadium.

Never Mexico. Hoping England humiliates them. Never going to pull for a team that throws piss and batteries at our players and fans.

England's players have no idea what they're getting into here. Getting hit with a bag of piss while taking a corner kick 7500 feet above sea level will be quite a rude awakening.

The local police have plenty of practice with the Mexican derbies and the libertadores games.

Some of those libertadores games in South America get really intense and they have to cordon off a whole upper deck and surround them with cops decked out in riot gear. I imagine they have contracted extra security for these games.

Edit- Just saw they have the Mexican national guard surrounding the England hotel to keep fans at bay.

That is the aspect I am wondering about. For normal games the opposing fans would normally be in the upper deck surrounded by a barbed-wire fence and armed guards with shields.

If England wins, with their fans in the middle of the crowd, it could get ugly.

With that said, hopefully the World Cup prices out the bad Mexican fans for this one. I have been to an El Tri game before (vs Colombia) and the Mexican fans at that game were very friendly and enjoyable to be around.

My tour guide in CDMX told me that Mexican fans have been saving for years for this WC and selling houses, cars, etc - going into abject poverty for a single game
Who knows what kind of backdoor cartel deals the desperate have made

I don't think anybody is truly "priced out"

...and also, NOBODY should be rooting for Mexico unless you are Mexican

Have any of you heard anything about the kick-off time being moved due to weather concerns?

More like whether concerns, as in whether or not Brit fans will make it out alive.

They are likely endanger win or lose because el tri fans are all massive pieces of shite and Azteca is the Mecca of their shite.

If Mexico lost in controversial fashion, Azteca as well as the surrounding area might burn.

British pundit on the radio this morning talked about having two routes out of the stadium depending on the outcome. Also said he may have a few Mexican shirts on hand if the situation requires.
