Maybe world class is the wrong description but they are all top players. Dumfries, De Ligt, De Jong, Memphis(when he tries), Frimpong(young kid really good), Ake, Van Djik, Gakpo. All those guys have big game top European experience. Im just pointing out that I don’t agree they are for the taking. We have to play extremely well to have a chance IMO.

Ake is right there in the next tier. Depay has showed what he is capeable of, however hasn’t displayed consistently in at least 2 years. Remember the name Jurian Timber, set a reminder on your phone 4 years from now he will be world class.
Gakpo is a rising star along with Dumfries.
They are full of talent everywhere but up top. They haven’t played to their potential and even so aren’t favorites to be the best in the world right now. However they are a scary team to face in the knockouts. It won’t be easy…however as we’ve seen anything can happen.

Even if you define World Class as the top 5 or 6 players in their position, De Light and De Jong don't make that list. Hell even Virgil isn't what he was pre injury

Out of the other likely group winners, I’d much rather face the Netherlands than Brazil, Spain, France, Argentina. Portugal is a maybe but man, Ronaldo is still scary even if he’s not the best in the world anymore.
I like our chances if we stay aggressive and Gregg comes in with a nice plan like he has in each match so far. I like that in each match he’s come out with the guys firing and playing with energy. If we don’t let NED get an early goal, I think we put one in later, around the 65’ mark. And steal it 1-0

Our problem is that we have no depth and our guys were run into the ground to make it out the group. A fully fit MMA with Pulisic and Weah up top can compete with them, but not sure how much we have left in the tank and whether CP will be healthy on Saturday.
Aaronson and Gio are talented replacement options for midfield or the wings, but they are much different players than their replacements. Maybe we could be more dangerous with those two (that’s a big maybe), but our defense would suffer greatly without MMA.
