Alex Potier, a junior from Daphne, AL
Daphne is a 7A school. he's been team captain since he was a freshman. they've won back to back 7A titles, they play in the spring there

he's been scouted by domestic sides and internationally. he's has been 24/7 soccer since he could walk

Remember the name!!!!

Congrats but Get him out of ODP

It’s a dinosaur of a program that is ran by money and parental politics not most the kids who are involved skill and ability.

Hopefully a well run youth academy snaps him up

Saw this post coming from a mile away.

Dude posts about being proud of his nephew, SCH turns it into a bat signal for him to rattle the "AMERICA SOCCER IS ALL CORRUPT THE END IS NIGH" cages.

Yeah my son is in ODP (2011). It’s a huge money grab. Few hundred bucks per event, stay to play hotel rules (3 days for the next tournament). I’m already almost $1,000 in and we haven’t even factored in food and gas

Yeah imo it’s a really good way to see how your kid stacks up.

Back when I played ODP, Hubie Collins was the head guy and all the squads were 99% lakeview/Jesuit players

I honestly didn’t know ODP was still around. He’s obviously a very good player but probably needs to make a move to an MLS academy/MLS Next type team if he really wants to take the next step up.

What’s the end game? A college scholarship? That’s not a bad thing at all especially at the D1 level. The lower levels(D2, D3, NAIA) are typically partial scholarships. Professional? I am curious more than anything else?

Yeah for most people it’s a good way to get your kid selected by a better regional club and get D1 offers.

For people in the southeast who don’t want to move to Texas or Atlanta, what’s the best option?

It’s been 20 years (and on the women’s side) but one of my close friends did ODP in a different region and got about as good of D-1 offer as you can get.

Of all the youth prodigies and phenoms from the non-Texas Gulf, is Justin Mapp still the only one who came from a non-Private School setup (pre-IMG)?

Plays club with my son. One of the best athletes I’ve ever seen. He’s got a legit shot to play overseas for a long time
