Bad day at the office for that poor bastard.

Nunez starting to remind me of Suarez’s start at Liverpool
Obviously not the exact same player, but the way he terrorizes defenses, his chaotic movement, and he’s creating good chances for himself and for others. I remember thinking with Suarez, that getting a poacher to pair with him would be great because Suarez just couldn’t knock them in.
Obviously, that’s a very tall comparison and I’m not saying he will ever reach Suarez’s caliber (arguably not far off Messi and Ronaldo for a little bit during their prime) but you can see Nunez is so close and I really don’t see how, at his age, he doesn’t start banging them in sooner than later

This.
He can't finish to save his life right now, but good lord I'm not sure I've ever seen another player open up more space for those around him. He's scored as many goals as his xG so far in the Prem (after yesterday it may be a little more skewed), so the criticism of his finishing is somewhat harsh. If he starts outscoring his xG prayers sent. But even if not, Gakpo and Diaz are going to feast off of this, once we have them opposite Mo.

Wholeheartedly agree

Konate draws the start. Good to see.

Well we look like trash defensively. Again.

Second half was much better but the last 25 minutes of the first half is the laziest soccer I’ve seen us play since the first half against Fulham.

Most of our guys have regressed. Some significantly.
Elliot should not see the field. He’s a formation disaster especially when we lose the ball. Needs a loan.
VVD is not nearly as good as he was. Fab either. Frankly I don’t think there is a player better now than two years ago and struggling to think of a player who is as good as last year.

I don’t think Robertson, Thiago or Matip have regressed. They’re all getting older and more injury prone.

Hey guys, tough loss today. But, at least you're not Chelsea.

Hey guys, tough loss today. But atleast you’re not Arsenal of the previous 6 years

was bound to happen, with age...
but not being willing to spend money, and trying to "outsmart" the market, yeah, THAT is catching up to us now... we have a severe lack of depth to even try to push our starters to stay great... of course they are going to regress

liverpool's problem is clearly their defense...i don't know what happened but they have fallen off a cliff. Van Dijk seems to have forgotten how to play football and Konate got rinsed badly today on that last goal. what a weird season for them

VVD hasn’t looked quite up to his old self, but the problem is more on the midfield. Can’t play a high line and push your wingers way up the pitch with an old and slow MF trying to cover. Allows other teams to play through us easily.

Nunez is literally the least of our problems right now.

Our entire midfield is past their athletic prime and it shows. Elliott is a skilled player but he’s a mid table winger and he’s being forced to play in the midfield because we haven’t addressed that in the transfer market. It's hard to effectively play a high press when you're slow as shite in the middle. It also doesn't help that none of the first choice midfielders offer any sort of goal threat. The position has been neglected and the chickens are coming home to roost. Just about anyone weve remotely been linked with in the midfield slots right in, and they aren't all "world class" players. That's an indictment on our transfer business.
Yunus Musah, Kudus, Amrabat, Fernandez, Bellingham, Caicedo could slot right in and be an upgrade

This is 99% of the issue with this team. We have a nursing home in the middle of the pitch while playing a high line/high press. It's a recipe for disaster.
