To help their fellow Great Brits and knock out the US?

They would have already guaranteed winning group in that scenario and eliminate goal differential as a need for Wales to advance.

If they have two wins going into their last game, they will rest people.

They won't care if it's us or Wales that gets through.

They would definitely rest people as needed in that scenario. They aren’t going to lay down or play for a draw from the beginning of the match or anything. But they probably don’t play their best 11.

I wouldn’t assume a Wales victory over Iran. Middle Eastern teams are doing really well this WC, hosts excepted.

Yeah that's a good way to frick around and lose the game and the group and having to face the Dutch instead of Senegal/Ecuador.

They can rest whoever they want.

They have no one on their 26 who wouldn’t create an 11 that would thoroughly thump Wales if motivated.

I doubt they are motivated to tie them.

No they’ll likely put the screws to wales

I look at it like this. We are young as hell and hopefully on home soil we have a better coach to Guide all the talent we have

Not sure, but wales beating Iran clearly is the worst of the outcomes for us in that game.

Yes, but we really don't need Wales beat Iran by 3 or 4 goals.

Yea a multi goal Wales win and a US multi goal US loss to England and it’s bedtime for Berhalter in this World Cup.

I doubt it matters to England what other team advances to the knockout stage from the same group. They wouldn’t have to theoretically meet until the semifinals which is quite a long shot.

In this scenario, Wales could win the group over England. I can’t imagine England would take that chance. Add to that the historical rivalry and there’s no way this happens.

England was in a similar situation at the euros. They were all but through after beating Croatia and drawing with Scotland. Just needed a result vs tCzechs to go through, and a win to top the group. They played their strongest side and beat the czechs 1-0.

They aren’t gonna wanna risk finishing second especially if it’s to us or Wales. The English media will break their balls if they lose (or even draw) to wales.
