Portnoy being first to report this is hilarious

I’m not going to believe this yet. Where is FIFA official statement on this? They upheld it Friday if I recall

The Friday decision was confirming it was only going to be a one game ban.
Also they aren’t overturning it, they’re basically giving him a suspended sentence/probation. Think he’ll still have to serve the one match ban at a later date.
Basically a FIFA rule that’s the equivalent of the college football “you have to miss two games but the team gets to choose which ones” so you choose two cupcake games. FIFA famously used it a few tourneys back for Ronaldo when he was set to miss the first 2-3 games of the tourney due to a pre-tourney red card.

Well looks like he's going to have to miss a 8-0 win over the Bahamas in qualifying in a couple years

From no appeals process to reinstated?
How did that happen?
How did that happen?

As glad as I am.
There is literally no way money bags trading hands didn’t make this happen

Oh my fricking god this is huge!

But if they were doing this the answer should be lift the red card. If it’s a valid red card he should serve it the next game imo
FIFA allowed this in the first place, let’s not celebrate them still not doing the right thing overall. Suspend the ref and overturn the red

May have just had to remind them what happened the last time FIFA officials on US soil were caught doing shady shite...

It's all seemingly made up on the fly.
In regular league play, the red would be appealed/reviewed and could be any thing from no 1 game suspension at all to a longer suspension.
I didn't even know that deferred suspension was a thing with FIFA though.

The B-1, B-2, and B-52.

They just couldn't hide from the criticism of their referees making "mistakes" anymore after that horrific display of officiating yesterday. Had to save face somehow.

Has the ref been fired? Suspended? Has the VAR crew been removed from doing games?

The Orange Bastard made a few calls to Infantino & the rest is history

Belgium should immediately appeal this decision. FIFA is not hiding its corruption. You can’t just change the rules when you feel like it.
