The rest of the world can shut the frick up. VAR intervenes when no card was given putting the US at a serious risk of being eliminated. So this "FIFA is rigging for the US" crowd needs to be reminded that a lot of teams wouldn't have moved on after a system that needs "clear and obvious" to produce or overturn a decision almost fricked us.

Belgium won their R32 game on a last second VAR assisted soft penalty. Portugal got one. France got one. England dodged two pretty solid penalty shouts against Ghana.

Balogun has been mugged all tourney in the box and we haven’t gotten a look for a penalty. The fricking gall to act like we’re the corrupt ones for wanting our player to play in a normal 11 v 11 game when the euros have been getting every on field VAR decision to go their way.

I’m so glad we don’t have to play that game with Pepi or Wright instead of Balogun.

In a miraculous turn of events, FIFA corruption actually benefits the United States team. What a time to be alive.

So who had blatant corruption? They literally have reversed suspensions for other players…

Seemed blatantly corrupt to remove our player over that.

They used the VAR tech incorrectly. It was objectively the wrong call and the wrong VAR procedure. But the argument is that we should just be fricked even though everyone agrees it was a mistake?

This is why I don’t understand the whining over this other than people just want to blame Trump and hate him.

At the end of the day they made it right and that should matter way more. It would more of crime to not allow him to play.
