Your AI twin is being created and used for understanding you

Harvard and MIT researchers build a digital world to simulate Earth’s population: MatrAIx is an AI simulation infrastructure made up of 8.3B agents, designed to mirror real humans around the world. To build it, the team pulled real human profiles from public records and supplemented them with synthetic agents. Each agent has its own persona, letting researchers simulate human behavior at scale.
quote:
Each person gets a persistent AI agent that continuously builds a model of them, including preferences, behavior, relationships, beliefs, vulnerabilities, likely future actions, and perhaps acts on their behalf, the dystopian potential is enormous.
The central problem is that the agent stops being merely an assistant and becomes a machine-readable version of the person.
A government or corporation would no longer need to surveil millions of people manually. It could ask the population of agents questions: “Who is likely to protest this policy?”, “Who could be persuaded not to vote?”, “Who is financially desperate?”, “Who is considering leaving their employer?”, or “Which people influence this particular person?”
The frightening part is prediction combined with intervention. If MatrAIx learns that Person A becomes politically angry after talking with Person B, becomes depressed after certain events, responds strongly to financial insecurity, and trusts messages from particular people, the system has effectively discovered that person's control surfaces. An automated system could then manipulate what they see, when they see it, and potentially whom they interact with.
You could also get a kind of algorithmic pre-crime. The agent predicts that someone has an 82% probability of committing fraud, becoming violent, missing payments, quitting a job, developing an addiction, or participating in civil unrest. Even if the prediction is wrong, institutions begin treating the prediction as reality. The person never actually did anything, but their digital twin effectively convicted them.
Another nasty possibility is inherited reputation. Your agent doesn't only model you. It knows who you associate with. Your insurance rate, security clearance, loan approval, employment prospects, or police scrutiny could change because the agents representing people around you have undesirable characteristics. You end up with automated guilt by association.
There is also a deeper problem with feedback loops. Suppose MatrAIx predicts that you are unreliable. Employers therefore give you fewer opportunities. Your employment becomes unstable. MatrAIx observes the instability and becomes even more confident that you're unreliable. Eventually the prediction creates the evidence supporting itself.
And then there is identity capture. After twenty years, your agent might know thousands of things about you that you've forgotten yourself. Institutions might start trusting the model more than the actual person:
“You don't normally make decisions like this.”
“I changed my mind.”
“Your behavioral history indicates otherwise.”
At that point, the database version of you has acquired more institutional authority than you have.
The most dystopian version isn't necessarily an evil supercomputer. It is something much more mundane: every institution independently deciding that querying MatrAIx is cheaper and safer than trusting humans.
Eventually you cannot get a job, loan, apartment, insurance policy, security clearance, date, medical procedure, or perhaps even cross a border without your agent's model being consulted.
And nobody technically controls society. Every individual decision can be defended as “risk management.”

Boy they sure are in a hurry to kill us.

One of the Locked On (sports podcast network) guys was talking the other day about being approached by an AI company about setting up an AI twin or agent, or something or the other. He was talking about getting it to do full episodes for him or setting it up to debate with himself.
Weird arse times we live in....

50 % of the population in America are confused stubborn people acting as children so that would be easy to copy as just say yes to them because that’s all they seek, regardless of questions or outcomes.

There’s no way the AI world will be able to decode the illogicalness of women’s thought patterns

One more reason we should be making our purchases as untraceable as possible ….pay cash.

Funny enough, the AI knowing all this information DRASTICALLY changes how they will act vs the real human.
Most people don’t know half this shite about themselves and thus don’t base decisions off of them.
Can the agents get laid? A lot of stress and bad things can slide away from people when they get laid. Can the AI predict these motivations/changes in behavior?

Anything you can imagine, they are probably going to be doing with AI. Science fiction is now Science non-fiction.

Have to put as much noise out there as possible. Make deals with others to order items to each other's houses and pick them up. Or fake names and use a prepaid debit card when ordering online. Like/follow hobbies on social media where you have zero actual interest.
Make AI so obviously clueless that nobody will take it seriously for making decisions.

Clicking who owns data twin asks to check if you are human. Then accept the cookies and your twin will knock on your door.

That will get "racist" in a hurry

why else would they need all these massive data centers

The popular take on payment threads on this website is to use your phone.
People are consolidating their whole life into their phones, controlled by either Apple or Google.
ETA: It is about to get worse too. Look up phone attestation. Governments and some websites are pushing for this. Basically you'll have to use an approved device for access.

What a bright future AI has for us!!!
Good things will undoubtedly come from AI, but in the end..... humans will be asking themselves why in the frick did we do this!!

Back to the basic concept in Robotics becoming humanoid, as in, how to conjure up feelings from data. Possible?

There will be about 100 million of us that will remain on the Earth going forward. The rest of you folks will be uploaded to the cloud. It will be great. You'll love it.
