This is a painting of Joan of Arc from 1429. She died in 1431.

This would be more of proper Hollywood representation of Joan of Arc:

Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. There could be a joke here, but I prefer to stay unbanned.

I swear to God I met Joan of Arc in a mental health facility in Baton Rouge. She(?) claimed to be the 4th or 5th reincarnation of Jesus and was Joan in her last life. She was also very guilty of gluttony, had thicker beard stubble than I could ever manage, and God told her I was her soulmate. She seemed a little off.

The JoA from Bill and Ted's was a good casting, imo.

or...maybe...just maybe...it's casting an actress in a role to tell the story a little different and isn't racist or trying to cancel white anything

That's a generous interpretation of what's going on. I'll say it again: Joan of Arc was a white French woman. Casting a black woman is cultural appropriation. It's not changing the story a little bit, it's taking the whole story to promote a certain agenda. AOC and others accuse white people of having no culture, yet they race swap cultural icons like Joan of Arc and others all the time. Do they not have their own heroes and cultural figures to emulate?

i apologize for calling you racist. i meant it as a general sweeping term for being up in arms about this but i see how my words came across as accusing you personally and that's not right. my mistake

No, you didn't mean it as a general sweeping thing, you specifically accused me of being against interracial relationships because, something, something, "You're a racist!" That dumb shite has never worked with me, and people are fed up with it. Because it's retarded and childish.

As far as casting I only mind 1. If you are aiming for serious historical depiction, and 2. I am annoyed that it seems done just to dot it.

I am just glad it is not a Disney project. My DIS has suffered enough from them trying to jam homo content in movies where it is not needed. They have also played the errant race card in many roles where it was not necessary. Outgoing Bob calls it social engineering.

It's not about DEI or woke. It's about rewriting history and changing culture. Goes for rewriting fictional works too.

Now that is a huge leap. I’m not following you there. Is that the case any time races are swapped? I doubt you’ll say yes.
