WSJ details what advisors told POTUS before initiating Iran War

There's something inherently wrong if starting a limited war with Iran creates "readiness" problems. What are we "ready for" if we can't even engage Iran? That doesn't make any sense.

Close the strait? Of course. We've known that would be a strategy for 30 years now.
The sage advice that they will actually fight back? What else would they do? Bend over?
A more hard-line regime? Like one worse than the one that's already killed 1,000 Americans, etc?

The main thing we’re running short on is air defense interceptors. A deficiency which I’m sure will be rectified very quickly.

Listen to these but understand that military guys are always gonna say they can do it whether they can or not. Let them map out the possible military strategy but don’t let them convince you to take military action
