Gonna be awesome. If a person has not ever witnessed a rocket launch, a person will not ever understand the raw power and human engineering needed to make it happen.

I'm interested in the engineering required to hurricane-proof the complex. Maybe some smart dude will figure out some construction methods that will help us all.

I don't like it because Pecan Island is one of my three fishing places. I recently helped a buddy build a new camp down there. That will all be gone. Got nothing to do with "librul" and everything to do with shrimp and crabs and easy fishing in an unpopulated area.

This has been discussed here previously.
The same methods used to "hurricane proof" the many refineries, chemical plants, and LNG facilities near and along our coast will be used.......
And no, the engineering used won't help you nor other residents because regular folks can't afford it.

Pecan island is gonna be gone whether spacex builds this facility or not. It's losing about a football field every 100 minutes due to erosion. At that rate in at most 25 years all that will be under water. The good thing about spacex coming there is their first priority is going to be to stop and even reverse some of that erosion. They aren't going to spend billions of dollars building this thing to let it wash away. Also not all of pecan island will be used for the facility. Still will be plenty of places to fish.
