Acme is a cool bar. Multiple stories and rooftop. Have had some good times there.

Let me guess, that property will be used for section 8 housing illustrating the warmth of collectivism.

No, that property is on Broadway in Nashville right by the river. It's worth probably tens of millions. "Acme Feed and Seed" is a bar, not what the name would have you think it is. It hasn't been a "feed and seed" and grocery in a long time. And it was actually a vacant building for awhile until a real estate investment group bought it, renovated it, and turned it into a downtown bar a little over 10 years ago. So let's not get to teary eyed here. Tom Morales has bought and sold real estate all over the city. He's just pissed this investment may not make him as money as he thought. He's also a huge liberal and voted for this, so yeah don't feel sorry for him. Someone else will buy it, rebrand it, and it will continue to be a soulless bar like everything else on Broadway

It's not all that quick IMO. It seems to have been happening for the past decade at least

Way longer. My girls went to school there from 2005 to 2013 and it was already changing.

This is somewhat reminiscent of how we ended up with the mighty Killdozer.

So an unrealized capital gains tax?

Same thing would happen to all the farms in my area if we didn’t have something called current use provision.

Absolutely. It was quite clear back then that Nashville was being invaded by leftist locusts that would turn the city into another Austin > Portland.

Among the worst, most soulless, places in the entire South. I'm sure it's composed of 99% liberal garbage by now.

frick property taxes.
Texas passed a law to prevent this kind of abuse. Depending on property type, taxing districts are limited to increasing their revenue to 3.5% and 2.5% with individual homestead properties limited to a max of 10% increase in any given year. Non-homestead, like commercial property and second homes, can go up 20% in a given year, but again, the tax district can only go up overall just so much, so they couldn't go up on all buildings that much, unless there's a special election.

Nashville is quickly becoming one of the worst large cities in the south. It’s amazing how quickly it’s happening.

I see it passing and then who knows what happens next but there has to be a significant raise in other local taxes to fund school

People can teach their own GD kids! They don't value what teachers do and think they're all a bunch wackos anyway (which is not true). They think anyone can teach so I say teach your own kids.

Taxes are up for virtually everyone in Nashville. It was already ridiculously expensive, soon it will be off the charts. All brought to you by people and the Party that will run on "affordability" this year.

Thanks for enlightening me.
I am not that familiar with the area, hence the guess.

If old boy voted for this…

The owner of Acme is a pro troon show for kids type of guy.

Nashville has a woke mayor. Woke mayor raising rent on even more woke constituent.

I’m ok with it. He is getting what he voted for.

It's not just him. Everyone's taxes sky rocketed after new property value appraisals. Borrom line is its a high demand area and is being gentrified. Big corporations are going to force these "mom and pops" out of the area

It was more than that. My house was tax appraised for $200k more than anyone would pay for it. I complained and was told to get fricked. And it happened to a lot of people. They want more tax revenue and nothing will stand in their way.

So you're ok with blatant corruption as long as it's against someone that thinks differently than you? Sounds kinda shitty

I’m ok with this clown for sure. He wants to trans kids, and campaigned for the mayor that raised his taxes.

At some point, you have to sit back and allow these people to eat themselves.

Your lack of insight and big picture thinking is that of child.
