That's why you're a Republican.

its my experience that Democrats just cant help themselves. They are compelled to share their opinions on all matters, otherwise how will people know that they are virtuous.?

Kudos to you, I would have probably burned my wife’s friendship up(at their house) that evening for good.

It was kind of funny. My cousin, who was the one talking to, has a psych degree from Indiana university, and she legit did not think she was deflecting. Their brains have just been demolished..

She said she was talking about tariffs and I said no you were talking about Trump, not the economics of taxation. I told her we're talking different languages and it's just not going to work.

And to be more clear, the conversation didn't have any animus in it, probably because it was legit like a 30 second "conversation".

Talking about politics in a group is trashy.

After some brief football talk don't you think I would have an obligation, if anything just politeness, to shut off any politcal talk once it started?
I am confident I could easily change the subject without your intervention. I am pretty much always successful when I do this.

Sometimes it seems like our message board is populated by autists with no social intelligence or social grace. Or snowflakes? A combo of all of the above?

She owes you, at minimum, a blowjob for putting you in that position.

We were invited to Democrat Friends for dinner last night and were having good dinner and then after dinner sat in Living room and all the sudden they seemed to intentionally start bashing President Trump.

Out of respect i tried to keep quiet and just said i am republican which they already knew and said i think for myself and have a few things i wish he had done better and left it at that.

It then turned into a full scale Democratic meeting with my wife which she knew did not go over with me and when i went quiet she realized i was not happy.

I would never ever do that to someone in my house as guests. I did not say a word on way home and wanted to wait to have the conversation today when i have calmed down.

I don't understand why you would invite someone to your house and intentionally put them in that situation.

Obviously these are more my wife's friends but i was raised to be respectful and i didn't want to cause a situation where it put her in a bad spot.

My wife and i learned early on for the sake of our marriage to just stay away from politics or we wouldn't make it.

I think she knows what is coming today.

If I know the people fairly well, then I have to assume they're wanting to engage in political banter and this is the shite I love. I've had times where I felt bad afterword but I get some people so worked up with facts and logic they start to fricking cry. They think I'm unfairly attacking them personally when I'm not, I'm attacking their ideology and lack of knowledge.

Not at all. If you have intelligent and reasonable people who want to be part of the discussion then politics and religion are a great topics.

Some of my more enjoyable evenings consisted of a few drinks while bantering over politics, economics and religion. I do add this caveat, if there is a DSA leftist in the discussion and they're exhibiting obvious TDS behavior I tend to lay low and let them have their vent session. Once they express all their hate Trump I'll try to get the focus back on whatever the pertinent topic is.

Not sure how believing people hate us and want us to die when they literally cheer when those things happens equates to snowflake behavior. Its not like we dream their opinions of us up out of thin air. Or are you so completely uninformed you have no idea about the world around you? No wait dont bother answering as its already obvious.
