Why won't Sen. Kennedy draft a bill re no ads paid by public & no bldgs named for living?

This seems reasonable and should pass. Why doesn't Kennedy draft a bill along those lines?
Would you support a bill that said, "No federal buildings may be named for public officials while they are in office"?

But as those of us from Louisiana hoping he might become a good fiscal Governor have learned, he likes to talk more than take action to govern. His best days of being a leader were as LA Treasurer, when he and then Governor Blanco torpedoed a couple Bob Odom boondoggle projects. That was decades ago.

Probably because most of the ones who do it are state or local officials. Do you know any federal ones doing it?

John Kennedy doesn't actually do things. He has folksy quips about other people not doing things, gives impractical solutions, but he never actually effectuates anything.

This is just another case where people hold Trump to a standard they hold no one else to.

It should have with Pelosi. If I had been on PoliBoard in 2022, when the legislation was passed, I would have said something.
FWIW, I think the prohibition should be on naming federal buildings after politicians while they are still in office. After they are out of power (and won't return...i.e. retired from politics), I don't see a problem with it.
As for sitting Presidents, other than with Trump ("the Trump Institute of Peace" and "The Trump Kennedy Center"), I don't think any sitting presidents have allowed/tried it.
Gerald Ford vetoed the naming of a federal building for him while he was in office:

Ford vetoed it. In his memorandum, he stated:
"I know of no Federal office buildings that have been named for a President while still in office."

I'm only complaining about sitting federal officials...the point being they are still in power and can benefit from the honor, when taxpayers paid for it.
It was done for Pelosi after she was speaker and for dying Senator Hart in 1976. Those were the only examples I could find. Maybe I missed some.
Whatever the case in the past, it SHOULD be against the law. Pass a bill. Now...it might get vetoed by Trump....
