The issue is you don’t get elected taking free things away from people, you get elected promising to give them more free stuff.
The way to fix healthcare involves doing things that the voting public would never stand for and both parties know it.

BS. Trump has the bully pulpit. If he actually wants change he should get to talking.

Because a lot of people obtained their insurance
through the ACA marketplace
and are pleased with their coverage.
Which dumpster fire are you talking about?
That’s what MTG and other Republicans are expressing concern about.

Because they are on the take from Big Pharma and Big Insurance. The uniparty is a thing

All but the busiest hospitals would close. Then the closest hospital to you if you got hit by a bus might be 5 or 6 hours away.
Medical R&D would stop. The clinics and hospitals that did stay open within 15 years or so would be operating with outdated, worn out equipment.
The number of highly competent "best and brightest" doctors would decline.
There's no way a cash only system could sustain the current salaries of specialists like heart surgeons, neurosurgeons, etc.
Again, there is a significant drawback to anything you propose.
None of this happens at other businesses where people use money that they earn to pay for goods that they want to buy. None of the schitt listed above would happen here either.
Healthcare costs go DOWN when people have to pay their own way, because living healthier becomes a money making choice. See:

You know why. This is all part of the GOPe/uniparty/Deep State plan...

So you are a socialist now. Get the government out of the medical industry. Eliminate the medical lobby and any and all forms of medical advertising,
Then say hello to your best friend. We call it Easily Affordable.

The Republican mind doesn’t understand reality. This quote:
This actually used to play out like this:
If you are an employee on my company’s group policy and you get cancer, we fire you immediately before our group policy gets re-rated due to the expensive diagnosis. If you get another job, your cancer is not covered on the new policy for at least six months. So you either go without treatment or go bankrupt.
That’s what the days before the ACA were more like.

And the days AFTER the ACA are like:
Let's just frickING PRINT the money and throw it out at people. There's no risk in doing that.

Trump said his first term the first week he was elected he was "2 weeks away" from a replacement.
The answer to your question is they don't care.

Because the gop is cripplingly stupid outside of trumps team
Posted on 11/7/25 at 10:41 am to Strannix
Because the GOPs answer to Obamacare is…wait for it….Obamacare.
Posted on 11/7/25 at 10:52 am to Strannix
The problem is that Trump and his team are breaking massive news multiple times per day that Republicans simply don’t know what to talk about because they are overwhelmed.
JD Vance said it perfectly clear - Republicans need to get their shite together.. find 3-5 talking points to hammer on 24-7 and one of those talking points needs to be about the economy. Stop talking about arrests, stupid dumb shite, Comey, etc - let the DOJ and FBI deal with that shite
Stick to one message and hammer that same message for the next year

Because 2/3rds of the country view it favorably.

Let's see
We have a republican house a republican Senate and a republican president
Why not just rewrite a very simple health insurance law and get rid of all the bad things in Obamacare and let them vote on it and perhaps the Senate can filibuster

Hey have but they aren’t being covered and that narrative is being downplayed by the media.
I look at X a fair bit, negative tweets by dem politicians outweigh ANY tweets/info by Republicans 99/1%, at least.
Trump AND the GOP as a whole have done a horrible job explaining their position on everything from Obamacare subsidies to the economy. They’re tone deaf.

quote:This is the ultimate indicator that socialism is upon us. The premise that the government must provide healthcare as a foundation... is *the* problem.
Because they don't have a healthcare policy of their own.
Replacing one set of sh*tty policies with someone else's sh*tty policies won't help.
Ultimately as long as the public thinks repealing government interference = "taking somehting away from me" we are screwed.
The fundamental false premise needs to be attacked. But it seems Trump loves big government as much as the GOPE does.
