Ruminate on this, the 8th also doesn’t guarantee bail.
? Are you suggesting everyone accused of a crime should be held in pretrial detention with no avenue of release before a trial?
Not sure what the relevance of pointing this out is otherwise.

You better hope you never get accused of breaking the law.
It can happen to anyone.
It can happen to anyone.

Do you disagree with the Constitution’s guarantee that all accused are innocent until proven guilty? It sounds like you’re claiming every person arrested is guilty.
So people that actually commit crimes aren’t guilty, at least in your leftist world view? That’s an interesting stance. I wonder how that’s working out for them in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and at the former location of the In-N-Out burger joint in OAKLAND?

I’m not advocating for the release of people convicted of crimes.
What are you talking about?

They should be released on their own recognizance.

Wouldn’t they have to actually be charged first?

I think they should be released.
I’m a fan of civil disobedience. I think more people should protest and demonstrate. I think it’s bull that municipalities require permits for such events. It’s our First Amendment right to do this sort of thing.
I’m not well-versed on the details of that day. I try to avoid coverage about it to be honest. I have Trump fatigue/exhaustion.

This is a news article, not a dissertation.
Why are you opposed to understanding a topic before forming an opinion?

That study found that holding detainees until they bailed out did not make them less likely to be rearrested
Did that same study also conclude the people IN frickING JAIL were EXPONENTIALLY less likely to commit other crimes while in jail?

You’re another one who presumes everyone arrested is automatically guilty. The founders are turning over in their graves at how carceral our society is.
