Jail time for every single one who participated in welfare fraud.

How old are you, child?

For a Dem, Billy Jeff Clinton was pretty damned moderate. And he balanced the budget.

Doesn't matter if they re-apply, if the system isn't changed to not re-approve them.

Because the gatekeepers are the ones who allow it. A lot of the corrupt dss employees are still working at dss, rubber stamping approvals for anyone who wants to exploit the system.

It's especially bad within the black community. Lots of Black dss employees will actively give black exploiters advice on how to successfully exploit the welfare system and get more food stamps.

Until the system is overhauled from within, from the ground up.... nothing will change.

I’ve been told repeatedly by the ‘conservatives’ here that this was unreasonable.

I like your idea Tulsa. But it will never pass. How about a compromise.

All welfare recipients born outside of the US can reapply and why are they getting welfare anyway. It you come to America you have to support yourself and pay taxes not the other way around.

I suppose it’s because we aren’t all members of Congress. Gosh I can’t imagine why it just isn’t so simple.

It doesn't have to be done in such a way as to cause anyone who is legitimately eligible to experience a break in benefits.

Who would make that determination? Using what metrics? The people who receive benefits have already been deemed legitimately eligible.

That's what's in doubt, isn't it? The legitimacy of eligibility.

I don't have direct knowledge of welfare eligibility, but being a former employer I have direct knowledge of unemployment eligibility and being that my business was in healthcare I have direct knowledge of disability eligibility.

And I can only assume that welfare eligibility is just as corrupt as those two. I saw all kinds of people deemed "legitimately eligible" for those government programs who were not, according to the program's own rules. Probably half of the people I had occasion to observe were not "legitimately eligible."

Not that this isn't obvious, but making everyone reapply and applying some oversight and reviewing the eligibility determinations is the point. And don't tell me we can't do it. If the IRS can review 155 million tax returns every single year, we can review half that many welfare eligibility determinations once.
