Thanks for proving closing the SOH doesn’t matter anymore.
You can argue that their actions mitigate closing the strait but if your position were true why would Trump be saying we’re weeks away from running out of oil reserves completely?

The fact that Saturday's rates were cut by 80% isn't a great sign that the SOH is "open". That's 20% of 50% of 2025 rates

Or the desire to.
It is of no strategic benefit to them to start sinking ships

China Is Propping Up the World Economy by Importing a Lot Less Oil
quote:
A sharp fall in China’s crude oil imports during the Iran war has been instrumental in holding down oil prices and keeping the global economy humming.
Clues are emerging in the mystery of the missing three million barrels—the oil that China would normally be importing but isn’t now.
quote:
What about a surplus of oil don’t you understand?
Where is your sourcing for this surplus?
More than 1 billion barrels of oil have gone missing
quote:
Oil hasn’t been coming out of the Middle East for nearly four months. All told, the world lost 1.15 billion barrels of oil supply during the war, according to analytics firm Kpler.
That has left the oil market in a precarious state, and it’s rapidly approaching a breaking point. The International Energy Administration’s strategic petroleum reserves are at their lowest levels since 1990. The American emergency reserve is at a 43-year low. And commercial inventories have hit operational stress levels.
quote:
Underpinning oil’s decline was the historic oversaturation of crude going into the war that effectively cushioned the world from its biggest-ever supply shock. But that oversupply has evaporated and rapidly turned into a concerning deficit.

Loo thinks we have a never ending glut of oil and there is nothing to worry about. Completely detached from reality

I'm looking for reports of this surplus.
I see some projections of potential surpluses in 2027 assuming the war ends and production ramps up in a peaceful global state.

Blow the shite out of them anyway. All leverage is still lost.

I am not sure if you are aware of this or not but how do you expect them to sink ships when their entire military has been dismantled?
Surely you have heard by now from either Trump, Vance or Hegseth that they no longer have a military because we destroyed it... Or did you simply not believe them when they have told us this over 100 times?

I always wonder when I read things like this. What objectives do you think are met by blowing a bunch of shite up. There is no point in doing something if it doesn't achieve a political objective.
Randomly blowing shite up isn't foreign policy. It's idiocy.

They hit a few with missiles early on. Message was received.
In the long run they want to collect tolls from each ship, so no need to completely destroy relations.

Sadly I'm not even sure if you're being sarcastic but I sure hope you are.

For whatever twisted and nonsensical reason, the Leftist enviro-nazis of the world find themselves aligned with Iran and against dRuMpF right now.
Sink some tankers and pollute the ocean with a few billion barrels of crude, and that unholy amalgamation of an "alliance" disappears like a fart in a hurricane.

Randomly blowing shite up is and has been the American way forever. Every other country knows this, it’s in our DNA.

Exactly. Everything else pure speculation.
There are four minesweepers on station. Takes a long to clear everything.

Nope. There is nothing you listed that could not be fixed in less than a year. And if the conflict dragged on in that way the US would invade Iran and end it quickly. The president would just have to take that political heat as the lesser of two evils.
