So if you are dating a girl and she says she is "shutting down" being with other guys.....and is still tagging 20 a day.....you think that is "shutting down"

I think it's the other way around. All the people arguing that it is open are celebrating a fraction of the traffic that normally passes through there.

The SOH in 2025 was getting like 100-130 vessels per day

On our best day, we've gotten about half through. Most days it's significantly lower, 10% of that rate or less.

If you want to be pedantic and say "shutting down" requires 0 then fine. Would "effectively closed" be a better way to describe the above? It's certainly not "open".

Right now China, India, Japan and Europe are staying on the sidelines.

Sinking ships would force them to get involved and Iran doesn’t want that.

Iran’s best card against the US is also bad for them if they play it too hard.

As has been posted, Iran has a MAD card to play. The US, China, India, Japan, Europe, and the Arab Gulf States all know this.

I reckon Iran is more prepared for a devolution in SOL than the US, China, India, Japan, Europe, and the Arab Gulf States are. Their SOL is already lower and they have the martyrdom complex

Pedantic indeed......

Closed means shut, blocked, or not accessible

Blowing up a neighbor's airport or desal plant is far more damaging than destroying a tanker. The reason they dont destroy tankers is because they cant, they do not control the strait, the US Navy does. They have attempted several times to accomplish this yet they have been unsuccessful.

Then why can't we get traffic back to 2025 levels?

A very non-partisan answer and one of the better ones for the question. Yet the hate. You people are something else, so petty

You probably set that up, didn't you? Not that I would blame you for it
