Yeah but Ken Paxton is a terrible candidate magically make Talerico an acceptable one per the logic of apparently a majority of Texans. Apparently, it isn’t possible for Talerico to be a worse candidate or at least I have been told.

It's because they're prototypical RINOs who hate actual conservatives as much or more than the Democrats do -- they're just far more mild-mannered in terms of giving voice to that hatred.
Their whole M.O. is to pander to real conservatives to gain and maintain power, all the while playing footsie with Democrats under the table.
They'd rather lose elections than lose control of the party to the real Right. And so endorsing Talarico is a matter of strategic practicality to them -- and an indicator of where their real allegiances lie.
